Baby Lillian, 2 weeks old

Sharing a few photos from my newborn session with little Lillian. This baby girl had more hair than I've ever seen on a baby, ever. And I loved it!

Hurray for the weather getting warmer and newborn photos outdoors!

Lillian's mom brought these butterfly wings to use for the session. I was going to try them outside but felt it was too breezy out for a baby, so we didn't stay out long. We improvised and used them inside and I think I prefer the soft colors anyway. Little peanut. 

The Block Family

Sunday morning I got to photograph the ever adorable Block family. For those that have been following their journey the last two and half years, you'll see little Claire is doing well! For those that are new to my page and unfamiliar with the Block family, little Claire was diagnosed at the age of 2 with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer.

Here is the latest update on Claire's health from mom, Melissa:

"Claire is in remission (scans tomorrow so prayers for continued remission). She is off chemo for the first time in nearly 2.5 years and going to start a promising trial drug very soon (pending good scan results) in hopes of keeping her in remission forever. She will start preschool in the fall and is very excited about it! Still at high risk for the cancer returning. We are very blessed and pray for continued blessings with tomorrows scans."


I am so thrilled that Claire is doing well, and would like to ask that everyone would send up some prayers for positive scans results tomorrow.  They are much appreciated!

Brooke & Nick - I Do

Brooke and Nick were married on Saturday May 12th, 2012.

The morning began at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth where Brooke and her bridesmaids got hair and make-up ready...

Then we worked our way to St. Matthew's Lutheran Chruch in Bridgeport where the ceremony would take place...

Brooke and Nick opted to have a First Look before the ceremony. This is where myself and my 2nd shooter (Leilani Tucker) set up a private "first look" for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony. Photographers LOVE the first look for several reasons, but mainly 1.) It makes for some great images, and 2.) the more photos we can get taken before the ceremony, the more time for fun after the ceremony.  There was a private grassy area that I would have loved to take these photos at, but alas with the rainy morning, everything was super wet. Heals sinking in to wet/muddy grass and a white wedding dress don't mix well. So we tried to get a little creative by having it take place on an elevated platform just outside the church....

After the First Look it started raining again, so we opened up the church doors and took these just inside on the stairs. Loved the light. And loved this capture by Leilani even more.
