6 month old, Sawyer

I had a visit in my home by Miss Sawyer last week because her family lives out of town, and the weather did not cooperate for us to get outside. Is her hair not the best? Reminds me of my daughter at that age and by the time she was two, she had it flowing down past her shoulders.  Can't wait to see how much more you have in October for your 1 year pictures sweet girl!

3 week old, Steven

This sweet newborn boy decided to arrive nearly a month earlier than his due date, so we did his session at 3 weeks old and he was still just a tiny little guy.  Steven was so sweet and while he didn't get into a really deep sleep, he faked it enough for me to make it look like he did.  :)  I really enjoyed this session so much. It was great to meet you N, I hope you love the photos as much as I do!

My favorite place to take photos in people's homes is the master bedroom. Usually there is great light and cute bedding. Perfect in pictures. ♥

Chris Rocks the Dress

I was contacted a few months ago by Chris about taking some pictures for her in her nearly 22 year old wedding dress.  Of course I loved the idea and thought it would be so fun!  Chris wanted this to be a surprise for her husband, Clay, but also wanted him to be a part of the photo session.  So she very secretively asked her husband to show up about 30 minutes into our session. He didn't know what he was showing up for, but she put the address into the GPS and she hung some clothes on the closet for Clay to put on before coming.

I took a few photos of Chris, (looking so incredibly beautiful, hard to believe she wore this dress 22 years ago) and we waited anxiously for Clay's truck to appear coming down the road.  Finally Clay arrives, and I was ready to capture a sweet moment of them seeing each and embracing, etc...there was just one little snafu,  Clay didn't see the clothes that he was supposed to wear! He showed up in blue jeans and tennis shoes...looking handsome, but just not the vision we had for our photo shoot!  SO, we had a slight change in plans for location. We jumped in the cars and headed to St. Louis so Clay could change clothes.  We ended up shooting some at their home, and they led me to the old train depot which was pretty neat to shoot at, and finally we ended up at the St. Louis Church of Christ, which is the church that Chris and Clay got married at nearly 22 years ago, and still attend today.

I must say, this is such a sweet couple and they have so much love for each other.  It was so great to meet you and thank you for allowing me to spend an afternoon with you both... making new memories, in an old dress.

How incredible do they look 22 years later?!

New baby boy, Karson

I was pretty excited when I got an email from baby Karson's mom a couple days before his session telling me she had been antiquing and picked up a vintage baby scale and Pepsi crate.  Score for me, so much fun! Mr. Karson was about as wide awake and alert as any newborn I've ever photographed... and he's also one of the youngest at just 8 days old! At least for being awake the whole time (almost), he was a very content baby. He was quite happy to just hang out, look around and observe his surroundings.   Have a look at some photos of this sweet little man...

We got about 5 minutes of sleep out of him for the scale photos. These would not have worked if he didn't sleep, so I was glad he knew when to finally give in for me. ;)
